Working Hard

She sat in the corner reading a book. The computer screen hid her activities and anyone who walked into the room would have no idea what she was doing.
This was how most days were. There wasn't enough work to go around for the seven of them and so time was filled in ingenious ways. By skiving, mostly.
Their clueless boss walked in.
"How's it going?"
"We'll probably make our target this week," said the book-reader.
The boss gave a thumbs up and left.
Seven raised middle fingers behind his back summed up workplace morale.
