He tore open the curtains, full of positivity. He'd woken up with an unmistakable feeling that something good was going to happen today. He hadn't felt like this since the summers of his youth and he was determined to carpe the hell out of this diem.
He looked across the road and saw two men arguing. All part of life's rich tapestry, he thought.
One of the men pulled out a gun and shot the other in the face.
He drew the curtains and got back into bed, his mind changed about the day.
