The Train

"We are sorry to announce that the 07:33 to London will be delayed by approximately 1,095 minutes."
The passengers looked at each other in disbelief.
Almost every day there was a delay of some sort, but this was taking customer dissatisfaction to a whole new level.
Passengers left the platform, most of them glued to mobile phones as they apologised to employers and people they had arranged to meet. Plans were cancelled, meetings were rescheduled and tempers were stretched to breaking point.
People returned home or tried to find alternative and quite costly means of getting to their destinations.
Once the platform was clear a train arrived, unannounced, and then left with no new passengers on board.
