The wall hadn't been there the last time they'd crossed the border.
The last time it was only a tiny sign by the roadside that told them they'd entered another country - blink and you'd have missed it.
Now there was a queue of vehicles that stretched back as far as the eye could see as officials waited for motorists to present their passports and papers.
How had it come to this?
