Not a 6, 8 or 9, he pleaded inside his head as he shook the dice.
He threw them over the board and wasn't surprised to see a 4 and a 2 . He knew that 6 was statistically quite likely, but that didn't sweeten what was about to happen.
He picked up the metal car and tapped the squares from Just Visiting.
"Marlborough Street!" his brother announced with great enthusiasm. "With a hotel!"
This was going to break him and the game would be over.
The excitement was too much for his brother who wet himself and returned to looking out of the window.
The game remained uncompleted for another hour while his brother was spoonfed soup by one of the carers.
What a strange, wonderful story. A rare one --- I like it.
