This was the best time of day. He walked through the streets with the dogs and there was nothing but silence. Bliss.
The sun was starting to come up and he knew there wasn't long left.
He headed home hoping to avoid their awakening.
He quickened his pace and reached his house within minutes. Just as he slid his key into the lock he heard the first of them.
Safely inside, he realised he'd had a narrow escape as he saw them outside.
