There was no point in shouting that after the robber. They were never going to stop and nobody was going to stop them.
The shopkeeper stood and stared up the street, watching the teenager who had so brazenly ran out of his shop with two tins of beans become smaller and smaller.
Inside the shop another teenager filled his rucksack with notes from the till.
