The alarm was sounding and his two friends raced out of the bank, balaclavas still in place and carrying bulging sports bags.
They jumped in the car and slammed the doors.
"Go, go, go!" shouted one of them.
He turned the key in the ignition. Nothing happened.
"Why didn't you keep it running?" fumed the other.
The driver opened his door and got out.
"Where are you going?"
He could be seen on the pavement talking into his phone. He got back in.
"RAC will be here within half an hour," he said.
